Today was a great day!! Teaching with the tennis balls. Talking to participants helps me see the way they feel the exercises as well as the Pilates experience. Always creating new ways to do the exercises and define them. For example, the roll up, inhale arms come to chest, exhale, engage the x or squeeze the sitting bones together and curl up. Remember to relax the rectus abdominal, and curl up from behind the shoulder blades. The importance is not about being able to come up all the way, but in enjoying the journey of learning the exercise with more precision.
It was last Wednesday that Chris got an uh,ha moment, he said he finally got the sitting bones coming together, he was not sure if he was to squeeze his rear together until that moment. A pleasure for me when someone finally gets it.

It is amazing how the more you do Pilates the more understanding you get of your body, and the more you are able to help others.
Tonight in class we used the tennis balls on our performis muscles, only this time we openned and closed out legs, while knees bent, it really helped release even more tightness in the muscle.
